"One of my favourite parts of every design is creating movement through handcrafted sugar foliage. Rather than simply placing flowers onto a cake, I carefully compose every arrangement so it flows naturally around the tiers, creating elegant botanical designs that feel organic, balanced and full of life. I often spend just as much time crafting and positioning the foliage as I do the flowers themselves, as I believe it's these details that transform beautiful sugar flowers into truly lifelike works of art."

For more than 15 years, I've dedicated myself to creating wedding cakes that feel deeply personal, beautifully romantic and crafted with exceptional care.  My couture sugar flowers, delicate textures and flawless finishes are shaped by passion, devotion and a desire to make very couple's day unforgettable.

Nina is the Owner and the creative drive of Cakes by Nina wedding cakes, who is completely self taught and has always had a passion for making beautiful, attention to detail cakes. We want you to feel confident that we will take all your stress away.

Nina is often referred to as the cake ninja as she takes literally all the stress out of your wedding cake fears from you, from delivery, set-up and design.  Nina is often described as enthusiastic and effervescent, some even say quirky!  

​

I love nothing more than going for a long walk in the countryside.

 

Even on my days off I still enjoy to bake, I have a real passion for making bread and just general bakes, I can never sit still I have to be doing things.  I adore attention to detail I truly believe the little things do make all the difference.  Absolutely love a challenge too helps keep my mind sharp, and to complete a  Sudoku puzzle fills me with joy, even as a child I really enjoyed numbers.

 

I originally wanted to go into animation, as always loved to draw cartoons and do love a Disney movie have to confess, my favourite has to be Lady and the Tramp.

​

I wrote a children’s book all about Bubbles when I was a teenager, I never got it published but one day I might get to rewrite it slightly, my brother did all the illustrations in it for me to which I am rather proud.

​

I come from a family of talented artists, my brother does tattoos and the most incredible paintings, my father used to be a talented oil painter, my grandad was an incredible musician he literally could pick up any instrument and play it without any music sheets to guide him.

 

We also found out recently that many generations ago we had family that had a Bakery shop in Oxford Street London, where he used to specialise in amazing royal icing techniques.
