The Beating Heart Behind Cakes by Nina Wedding Cakes
Welcome to Cakes by Nina Weddings. I'm. Nina, the owner and creative force behind the business, and I've been designing and creating wedding cakes since 2010.
I'm completely self-taught and still genuinely love the process of turning an idea into something you can see, taste and share on your wedding day. No two couples are the same, so I never want two cakes to feel the same either.

Why I Love Sugar Flowers
​
"One of my favourite parts of every design is creating movement through handcrafted sugar foliage. Rather than simply placing flowers onto a cake, I carefully compose each arrangement so it flows naturally around the tiers, creating an organic and balanced botanical design.
I often spend just as much time crafting and positioning the foliage as I do the flowers themselves. It is these smaller details that can make a sugar-flower arrangement feel as though it is growing naturally around the cake."

The Cake Ninja
​Over the years I've rather affectionately become known as the "Cake Ninja " - partly because I seem to be able to solve almost any cake problem, but mainly because I like taking the stress out of the process for my couples. From tricky designs and structural challenges to delivery and venue set-up, I enjoy finding solutions making things feel east. Nina is often described as enthusiastic and effervescent, some even say quirky!

A Little More About Me
​
Away from weddings, I love long walks in the countryside, baking bread and trying new recipes. I've always enjoyed drawing and animation, and I have a particular soft spot for Disney.
​
I also come from a creative family, so perhaps it isn't surprising that making things has always been part of my life. We even discovered a family connection to baking several generations ago, when relatives ran a bakery in Oxford Street, London, with a particular talent for royal icing. i
Nina established Cakes by Nina in 2010 and is proud of winning many industry awards for her incredible creations. Nina has also forged some incredible working relationships in the industry with fellow tradesmens and women and some incredible venues.

Meet the Family Behind Cakes by Nina
Although I am the person behind the creative work, Cakes by Nina is very much a family business. my husband Paul helps with logistics, open-days, set-ups and structural support for more complicated projects. My son Samuel has helped enormously with photography and media over the years, and my sister Angelina occasionally joins us at events and helps keep everything running smoothly.
We're a small family team, and that personal approach is something I'm very proud of.
Meet Paul - I have a background as an Engineer and is able to help with structural support for more complicated projects. I enjoy hearing and chatting about your wedding plans.
Hi I'm Samuel a media whizz, used to be our full time baker but now only works part time should the need arise as he has followed his dream into the media field. Most of the photos on this website and our other website have been produced by Samuel.
Angelina, I help as a very casual member of staff should the need arise, I'm good at keeping the morale going when the team starts to get tired. Angelina has a long history in Sales and she helps attend fairs and open days.
